Rangoli Exclusive

This 3,000-square-foot Rangoli was located on the main road — but one flight up. Was it a disadvantage? We didn’t think so! With the ceiling being the most visible plane from street level, we decided to play it up to maximum

Mindful of the fact that space was leased and the business potential was good, we did a balancing act neither stint on a good retail presence nor call for heavy investment. So while the display strategies are eye-catching, portico design concepts are not permanent and while the envelope is an attention-grabber, it can be easily dismantled and carted away.

Cement panels — selected for their economic pricing and workability —have been orchestrated to emphasize and exaggerate the linearity of the fashion showroom. Space, therefore, has a relatively plain floor and a striking graphical composition of Cement panels overhead.

Rangoli’s trial room lies concealed in barcode-like wall paneling, up a flight of cantilevered treads. Within this solid, monochromatic scene, we introduced mirrored insets in small doses to add a reflective element that would capture and multiply the graphic nature of the envelope without being too in-your-face.
